Strix’s Multi-Radio Wireless Mesh Provides Guest Access Throughout Mt Buller Ski Resort

CALABASAS, Calif., August 2, 2006 – Strix Systems, the leader in high-performance wireless mesh networking, today announced that SnowSports Interactive, Australia’s leading ski and snowboard technology company, has selected Strix’s Access/One® Network Outdoor Wireless Systems (OWS) and Indoor Wireless Systems (IWS) to provide the first Australian ski-resort-wide wireless network at Mt Buller Alpine Ski Resort, Australia’s premier snow destination. SnowSports Interactive will deploy its whispar™ wireless system, which is based entirely on Strix Access/One products, at Mt Buller to enhance the ski resort experience by providing multimedia Internet access to all visitors and skiers. Resort visitors using PDAs, Wi-Fi enabled phones, or laptops will be able to access the whispar wireless mesh network from anywhere in the 650-acre resort.
SnowSports Interactive, which develops high-tech solutions for the skiing and snowboarding industry, determined that Strix’s multi-radio, multi-channel, multi-RF solution was the only wireless system that could withstand the harsh alpine environment at Mt Buller while providing coverage at locations around the mountain with restricted lines of sight. The solution will provide substantial coverage in the Mt Buller Village area and across the skiable terrain.

Strix’s modular, multi-radio architecture allows for 
simple configuration and automatic self-tuning of radios within a node, providing a customizable approach to deploying wireless mesh that ensures the highest performance, even across mountainous terrain, deep basins, and large valleys, which are not conducive to deploying a wireless network.

The Strix Access/One OWS and IWS modular mesh products deliver the largest capacity (up to six
radios and 768 users per node, three to six times the norm), highest throughput (five times the norm
at 35 Mbps), and best scalability (users can add more radio boards, WiMAX modules, or new
