GALAXY INTERNET SERVICES SELECTS STRIX SYSTEMS TO PROVIDE CITY-WIDE WIRELESS MESH FOR BROOKLINE, MASSACHUSETTS

CALABASAS, Calif., December 5, 2006 - Strix Systems announced today that Galaxy Internet Services (Galaxy) has selected Strix Systems to provide its Access/One Outdoor Wireless System (OWS) high-capacity, multi-radio mesh network for the city-wide Wi-Fi network in Brookline, Massachusetts. The Strix OWS, which incorporates long-range 4.9GHz access, simultaneous 2.4GHz access, and high-capacity integrated dual-radio 5GHz backhaul, is critical to achieving Brookline’s public safety requirements.

Brookline’s new wireless mesh network is the first city-wide Wi-Fi network in the Boston metro area and represents a significant step forward in the deployment of combined public safety and commercial networks in the U.S. to incorporating 4.9GHz.  The network will support a variety of public safety and municipal applications and provide Wi-Fi services to a population of over 58,000. The Strix OWS will enable Brookline’s Police Department to gain immediate access to police reports and crime incidents and to perform remote video surveillance. In addition, the network will support traditional Internet services and voice communications (VoIP) for public safety, municipal, and commercial/consumer applications.

STRIX SYSTEMS NAMED FASTEST-GROWING HIGH TECH COMPANY IN LOS ANGELES AREA

CALABASAS, Calif., November 28, 2006 - Strix Systems announced today that both the Los Angeles Business Journal and the San Fernando Valley Business Journal named it as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the Los Angeles area.

Strix OWS Offered Rochelle Municipal Utilities Best Performance, Flexibility, and Scalability

STRIX WIRELESS MESH DEPLOYED BY BEIJING'S PUBLIC SECURITY BUREAU IN PREPARATION FOR 2008 OLYMPICS

Strix Wireless Mesh Network Is Deployed by Beijing’s Public Security Bureau as Part of Preparation for 2008 Beijing Olympics

STRIX SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF INDUTRY-FIRST 802.11J MESH PRODUCTS FOR JAPANESE MARKETS; OPENS JAPAN OFFICE FOR SALES AND SUPPORT

 

CALABASAS, Calif., January 18, 2006 – Strix Systems, the leader in high-performance wireless mesh networking, today announced the availability of the industry’s first 802.11j wireless mesh products for the Japanese market. Strix has introduced support for 802.11j in its multi-radio, multi-channel, multi-RF wireless mesh platform to address the need for a high-performance mesh solution for use throughout Japan, where 802.11a is prohibited. Strix’s 802.11j-compliant radios operate at the 4.9 to 5.0 Ghz frequency, providing a high-throughput mesh backhaul replacement. Strix has also announced its global expansion with the opening of its Japan offices, which will provide local support for its growing network of Japanese value-added distributors (VADs) and partners.

Strix also announced the addition of five new Japanese VADs to its network of global partners, including ALP Systems, Network Value Components, PSI Japan, Soliton, and Takabun. Strix currently has a network of over 15 value-added resellers (VARs) in Japan alone. These partnerships have resulted in Strix’s first Japanese customer wins with KDDI and the Phoenix Seagaia Resort.
