WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., TOKYO, Japan– February 1, 2004 –
Strix Systems, Inc. today announced that it has signed an agreement with Soliton Systems K.K.., who will distribute the Strix Access/One™ Network wireless local area networking system in Japan. The Strix Access/One™ Network serves all wireless devices using 802.11 a/b/g, Bluetooth, or future RF technologies simultaneously on a single enterprise network. Utilizing mesh architecture and a modular hardware design, the Access/One Network is capable of providing complete networks without wires from the closet to the user, providing security, manageability, redundancy, and flexibility for enterprise and other end users.
“Soliton has a long history of success in Japan with an impressive customer list,” said Jay Yang, VP of Asia Pacific for Strix Systems. “We are pleased that they decided to make Access/One Network their WLAN solution of choice, as their channels will give Strix the ability to rapidly expand our presence in the Japanese market.”
“Soliton is always eager to offer products to our customers that are best in class and help to solve our customer’s business problems,” said Yoshitaka Takei of Soliton Systems KK. “Taking on the Access/One Network product allows us to meet and exceed our customer’s wireless LAN requirements and achieve their goal of eliminating wires while maintaining secure, reliable, scalable, and manageable networks.” Strix Systems Products
The Strix Systems Access/One Network represents the next generation of wireless LAN products, leaping past the traditional access point and emerging switch architecture to Mesh; a self-discovering, self-configuring, self-tuning, and self-healing wireless network incorporating robust security and comprehensive management within a single wireless network. The Access/One Network consists of various modules, designed to stack on top of one another to form a network node. Multiple network nodes discover and connect to each other through a mesh topology to form a unique wireless system for each organization. The Access/One Network can be configured and managed via Manager/One, a comprehensive management platform that allows IT administrators to control all key elements of their wireless network. In addition Strix Systems offers Architect/One, an intuitive wireless network-planning tool for Strix partners that designs and builds a radio frequency (RF) coverage map based on specific network requirements.
