Strix Systems Named to the pulver100

Unique WLAN Mesh System and Continued Growth Help Secure Strix to the Pulver List

CALABASAS, CA – September 27, 2004 – Strix Systems announced today that it has been named to the 2004 “pulver 100” — one of the VoIP industry’s premier listings of privately held growth companies that represent the future of the communications industry.  Strix Systems has been named to the list for its approach in unwiring local area networks. Using a mesh architecture and no-wire access points, Strix’s Access/One Network is enabling the deployment of networks in corporate offices, airports, universities, hotels, apartment complexes and large event facilities.

“2004 has been a banner year for Strix, and being apart of the pulver 100 makes it even better,” said Cyrus Irani, co-founder and vice president of Strix Systems.  “We are honored to be recognized as a key player within the networking and communications industries.  We remain committed to serving the technology community and continuing to build upon what we’ve started.”

The Access/One Network distributes intelligence across the system by implementing management software at the access point level. Each access point is an independent thinking machine, yet together they work in concert allowing for a self-configuring, self-discovering, self-tuning and self-healing network.  And without the need for Ethernet cabling, a less-expensive network is available to a wider variety of locations.

“VoIP has been a hot issue this year – due in large part to companies like Strix Systems,” said Jeff Pulver, CEO of pulver.com. “Strix has helped spread IP communications via their Access/One Network, and we’re excited to follow their continued growth and progress.”

During pulver.com’s VON Conference & Expo this fall, Matt Holdrege, director of business development at Strix, will participate in the October 18 Wi-Fi VoIP Summit discussing the impact of mesh networking on VoIP.

About pulver 100
Originally introduced in 2002, the pulver 100 features private companies in the communications sector that have substantial real-world deployments and enjoy significant growth rates.  The value chain characterized by pulver 100 differs from the vertically integrated telecom model of the last century, focusing more on a networking-industry model that espouses open interfaces, connectivity decoupled from services, and software decoupled from hardware.  For additional details on the 2004 pulver 100, please visit: http://pulver.com/pulver100/.
