CALABASAS, CA, October 11, 2004 –
Strix Systems, Inc. today announced it has signed an agreement with Northamber PLC, who will serve as a distributor of the Access/One Network to Strix Value Added Resellers (VARs) and integrators in the United Kingdom. The Access/One Network is sold exclusively by Strix channel partners and is available to enterprise, hospitality, education, hotspot providers, and other end customers.
“The Access/One Network represents the best in class wireless networking system available on the market today,” said Cyrus Irani, co-founder and vice president for Strix. “There has been significant demand for our solution in the UK, so we are excited to partner with a top distributor like Northamber to reach the UK market more effectively. This relationship reaffirms our international commitment and allows us to leverage the success we are having around the world.”
“Northamber are pleased to announce the signing of a new vendor partner on behalf of our resellers” said Rob Duggan of Northamber Plc. “The new partnership with Strix Systems demonstrates Northamber’s ongoing commitment to offer its resellers access to the world’s leading networking products. The true wireless-meshed network approach that Strix products offer is a real differentiator in today’s market, ensuring our resellers have a unique edge in solving customers’ business problems.”
Prior to this move to a 2-tier distribution model, Strix engaged directly with a limited number of resellers for an initial entry into the UK market. Briteyellow, a Cranfield based value added reseller (VAR) focusing on wireless solutions, added the Access/One Network to their product portfolio because of its unique features and functionality.
“We are engaged in a number of opportunities in the education and general enterprise segments where the Access/One Network offers us a real competitive advantage,” said Fredi Nonyelu, president of Briteyellow. “Its modular design and wireless mesh functionality are features that our customers request.”
British Petroleum (BP) purchased the Access/One Network for use with their emergency response teams. “We needed a secure and manageable wireless network that could be easily transported, quickly assembled and easily operated anywhere in the world,” said Zäl Rustom of the BP Regional Response Team. “The self-configuring, self-tuning, and self-healing aspects of the Access/One Network complemented by the Manager/One interface and comprehensive security gave us exactly what we needed.” Strix Systems Products
The Strix Systems Access/One Network represents the next generation of wireless LAN products, leaping past the traditional access point and emerging switch architecture to mesh; a self-discovering, self-configuring, self-tuning, and self-healing wireless network incorporating robust security and comprehensive management within a single wireless network. The Access/One Network consists of various modules, designed to stack on top of one another to form a network node. Multiple network nodes discover and connect to each other through a mesh topology to form a unique wireless system for each organization. The Access/One Network can be configured and managed via Manager/One, a comprehensive management platform that allows IT administrators to control all key elements of their wireless network.
